Sitges Carnival: Program, Curiosities, and Everything You Need to Know.

Sitges Carnival, one of the most emblematic festivities of the town, is about to begin. From February 8th to 14th, 2024, Sitges will be filled with color, music, and fun to celebrate this traditional festival that attracts thousands of visitors from around the world every year. We already have a queen! A charismatic and well-known person in the town, Loreto Baqués, is organizing it this year with the Huertos group, presenting a fabulous and entertaining proposal. This Thursday we will discover who the Carnestoltes is, thanks to the Panxamplas group, and from here we kick off the vibrant week of celebration and fun.

The history of the Sitges Carnival dates back centuries, rooted in local traditions. From its humble origins as a community celebration to becoming a globally recognized event, the Sitges Carnival has maintained its festive spirit and its ability to unite the community around joy and fun. As you know, the carnival is divided into “pluma” groups, which perform great choreographies with carefully crafted and elegant costumes. On the other hand, we have the “fardo” groups, with playful and humorous costumes, who liven up the parade with their frenetic partying. Don’t miss the Bed Race, the Fardo Party, and the Sunday and Tuesday Parades!
